Transportation Funding

K-12 schools and youth-focused nonprofit organizations, as well as senior facilities and groups located in the St. Louis region, may request funds to support the cost of field trips to the Pulitzer. These are noncompetitive funds that are provided on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified applicants. Institutions may apply for up to $300 of transportation support per year. Funding must underwrite the costs of transporting students or groups to the Pulitzer. Eligible costs include: charter bus expenses and mileage for buses or vans owned by a school or organization.

Applicants must contact the Pulitzer to coordinate field trip activities prior to submitting the application for transportation funding. Tours with transportation funding requests must be made a minimum of one month in advance of the tour date. Applications can be submitted by teachers or administrators and are reviewed on a rolling basis and approved if funds are available. Responses will be reviewed and responded to within five business days.

Transportation funds will be sent via check to the school or organization. Grantees are responsible for letting their fiscal manager know about the financial support. If the trip is canceled after the receipt of funds, it is the responsibility of the applicant to return the funds.
