Celebrate the opening of Barbara Chase-Riboud Monumentale: The Bronzes. This major monographic exhibition examines the artistic vision of the Paris-based artist, novelist, and poet Barbara Chase-Riboud (b. Philadelphia, 1939). Monumentale features both celebrated and never-before-seen works, highlighting the artist’s groundbreaking role in the field of contemporary sculpture. In addition to some forty sculptures, the exhibition will include twenty works on paper as well as a selection of Chase-Riboud’s internationally acclaimed poetry. When considered together, these diverse aspects of the artist’s practice offer unprecedented insight into her meditations on form, memory, and monument, while revealing a rich array of global art-historical and literary points of inspiration.
