The catalogue includes an introduction by Tamara H. Schenkenberg, curator, as well as a focused essay by independent curator Kit Brooks. Hand sewn with Japanese style binding, the catalogue is illustrated throughout with images of drawings by artists Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Kuniyoshi, and Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, among others.
