Uplifting the voices of the Black Trans community, Transfuturism is an oral history and art-activism project composed of paintings and stories. Join us for a popup exhibit with emcee Maxi Glamour and music by DJ Makeda Kravitz. The exhibit will celebrate the close of an online art auction. Donate, place a bid, or purchase prints here. All auction proceeds will support the Acorn Center for Restoration and Freedom, the Black Trans Prayer Book, and the Trans Justice Funding Project. Organized by Amber Johnson, St. Louis University faculty, artist, and activist, and Wriply Bennet, comic artist, the goal of Transfuturism is to humanize and celebrate trans and gender fluid people.
The exhibition will be hosted inside the museum. Refreshments will be provided. Masks are required.
