Celebrate the opening of two fascinating exhibitions featuring art from Japan. Living Proof: Drawing in 19th-Century Japan will present a rare group of works on paper from the Edo and Meiji periods, exploring the multifaceted role of drawing in the development of Japanese illustration and woodblock prints during this time. Concurrently, a small presentation of short films titled Rough Cut: Independent Japanese Animation will bring together a selection of innovative animated films produced outside mainstream commercial studios.
