Inspired by Mona Hatoum: Terra Infirma, members of The Texas Room—a music recording resource organized by Louis Wall—have created a sound installation of stories and letters, written and recorded by immigrants and refugees in their native languages. During the exhibition, the installation is accessible in the Pulitzer galleries. The collaboration will culminate on Friday, August 10, with an event featuring live readings and musical performances by Texas Room artists, including Adria Maria Gutierrez, a musician from Mexico; Wise Forever, a group from Eastern Congo lead by Jacob Chenko with Claudia Nkurunziza, Rachel Byenga, and Rebecca Bakole; and Edo and Maja Sadikovic, musicians from Bosnia, playing Sevdah music.
