This program featured an informal symposium at the Pulitzer in conjunction with a public panel discussion at the Saint Louis Art Museum. The program at the Pulitzer addressed a number of topics raised by the exhibition Portrait/Homage/Embodiment, including the tradition of portraiture, portraiture and identity, portraits as artifacts, and portraits as an artistic statement. The event concluded with a general discussion, moderated by John Klein, Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Art History and Archaeology at Washington University in St. Louis and Associate Professor of Modern and Contemporary Art at University of Missouri–Columbia.
