In response to the radical process and artwork of Medardo Rosso, the Pulitzer has commissioned three internationally renowned artists—poet Mary Jo Bang; choreographer and media artist Jonah Bokaer; and visual artist Diana Al-Hadid—to reflect on his work, and how it relates to their own artistic practices. In the video below, Bang discuss the materials, process, and historical contexts for Rosso’s work.

Mary Jo Bang is the author of several books of poems, including The Last Two Seconds (Graywolf Press, 2015), The Bride of E: Poems (Graywolf Press, 2009), and Elegy (Graywolf Press, 2007), which won the 2007 National Book Critics Circle Award in Poetry and was a 2008 New York Times Notable Book. Bang currently lives in St. Louis, Missouri, where she is Professor of English in the Creative Writing Program at Washington University.
