Participate in an interactive panel and workshop on global climate challenges across the Mississippi, Mekong, and Rhine river basins. Led by Kotchakorn Voraakhom (Kotch), current designer-in-residence and internationally celebrated landscape architect, and Derek Hoeferlin, Associate Professor and Chair of Landscape Architecture & Urban Design programs at Washington University in St. Louis, the pair will focus the conversation around their collaborative research on water infrastructure. The workshop highlights themes related to Kotch’s residency and Hoeferlin’s forthcoming book Way Beyond Bigness: The Need for a Watershed Architecture (Applied Research + Design Publishing, 2023). Additional participants include experts from various backgrounds from across the country, including Margarita Jover, Ian Caine, Shelby Elizabeth Doyle, and “Big Muddy” Mike Clark, all contributing writers to Way Beyond Bigness. Books will be available for pre-order at the event.

The event is supported by the Pulitzer Endowment, established in 2004 to support joint collaborative projects between the Sam Fox School and the Pulitzer Arts Foundation that enhance the creative life of St. Louis.
