After an extended renovation period, the Pulitzer reopened to the public with three related solo exhibitions of Alexander Calder, Richard Tuttle, and Fred Sandback. The opening reception featured a public commission, when I am alone, by the award-winning composer David Lang. Written for soprano and alto voices, this piece featured a choir of local singers from St. Louis Children’s Choir, the St. Louis Symphony IN UNISON Chorus, and Webster University Chamber Singers, creating a glow of sound in the galleries and enlivening the art and architecture.
