Artist Richard Serra and scholar Hal Foster conducted a public dialogue addressing Serra’s work on view throughout St. Louis, including Pulitzer Arts Foundation, the Saint Louis Art Museum, Laumeier Sculpture Park, and downtown’s Gateway Mall. Hal Foster is the Townsend Martin Professor of Modern Art and Archeology at Princeton University and a Guggenheim fellowship recipient. He edited Richard Serra (October Files) (2002) and contributed the introductory essay to Richard Serra: Torqued Spirals, Toruses and Spheres (2002). The event was a collaboration between the Pulitzer and the Saint Louis Art Museum, which held the discussion in its auditorium.
