To close out the Joy & Artmaking series, all are invited back to dismantle the sculpture so its parts and pieces can be recycled or taken to be enjoyed at other parades. Light refreshments will be provided.
The program is organized with Nina Ganci, ecologically considerate clothing designer and owner of Skif International, and Artica, a group of artists providing a platform to celebrate the creative spirit of St. Louis. Artica celebrates the river in an annual festival along the Mississippi River.
Inspired by the current exhibitions, Faye HeavyShield: Confluences and The Nature of Things: Medieval Art and Ecology, 1100-1550, the series considers the environmental impacts of artmaking, honors nature, and delights in making art together.
