Join Anna Serotta, Associate Conservator at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, for a guided tour of Striking Power: Iconoclasm in Ancient Egypt. Known for her research on stone carving in ancient Egypt, Serotta will focus on tool marks and methods of studying stone sculptures, sharing insights into how they were made and destroyed.
Anna Serotta is primarily responsible for the Egyptian Art collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Serotta has also worked at the Brooklyn Museum and as an archaeological field conservator on sites in Egypt, Turkey, Greece, and Italy. She is a fellow of the American Academy in Rome as well as guest lecturer in conservation at the Institute of Fine Arts Conservation Center, New York University. Serotta is known for her research on stone carving in Ancient Egypt and the use of computational photography and broadband multispectral imaging to document and study antiquities.
