Join designer Brianna M. McIntyre for Softer than Stone, a hands-on design workshop inspired by the current exhibition Scott Burton: Shape Shift. Taking place in the museum’s lower main gallery and outdoor Tree Grove, Softer than Stone is designed to ignite creativity through the lens of Burton’s iconic granite sculptural furniture.

Participants will draw inspiration from the artist’s work to craft a furniture prototype made from a plaster-like material. McIntyre will guide you through the creative process using a blend of natural pigments, lime, crushed marble, and decomposed granite to cover a plywood structure and transform it into a carved object. This workshop is recommended for ages 13 and up and accommodates various skill levels. Materials and lunch will be provided.

Individual registration is required. Please get in touch with programs@pulitzerarts.org if you require any accommodations to participate.
