Join us for a screening of short films by influential Cuban-American artist Ana Mendieta (1948–1985), whose work is featured in the current exhibition On Earth.
Mendieta used her own body and organic materials like water, fire, and blood to explore physical and spiritual connection to the Earth across time and history. Pulitzer Curatorial Assistant, Molly Moog will introduce Mendieta’s practice followed by a screening of five films: Sweating Blood, 1973; Burial Pyramid, 1974; Creek, 1974; Butterfly, 1975; and Anima, Silueta de Cohetes (Firework Piece), 1976.
This event is recommended for ages 13 and up. Registration is encouraged, but not required. Please contact programs@pulitzerarts.org if you require any accommodations to participate.
