Born in 1967 in Denmark, Olafur Eliasson is a Berlin-based artist whose installations, photographs, objects, and architectural projects explore new forms of perceiving our natural, technological, and highly mediated environments. The discussion at the Pulitzer was a continuation of the lecture given earlier in the evening by Eliasson at the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts at Washington University. Situated within the context of the exhibition Minimalism and Beyond, Eliasson discussed his own relationship with Minimalism and how it has shaped his work. Additional panelists included Sabine Eckmann (Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum, Washington University), Matthias Waschek (Pulitzer Arts Foundation), and moderator Lutz Koepnick (Washington University).
