Bamboo invited families to explore Art of Its Own Making through geocaching. Geocaching is an anytime adventure game that involves seeking real hidden treasures in the world around us. Visitors picked up a free Explorer’s Edition activity guide at the front desk of the Pulitzer, and then went on a literary journey with the story of “Kodi, the Bee,” written for Bamboo by poet Alec Hershman, to discover some of the many geocaches around the St. Louis area. Just as natural materials like water and moss found an unlikely home in the exhibition Art of Its Own Making, families began to see the city differently as they discovered the new secrets that its environment has to offer.
