To mark the closing of the Pulitzer’s exhibition Brancusi and Serra in Dialogue, artist Richard Serra and Guggenheim curator Carmen Giménez engaged in a public dialogue about Serra’s work. Serra, generally considered one of the world’s most important living artists, worked with Giménez on his highly acclaimed Guggenheim installation, which opened in 2005 in Bilbao, Spain. Giménez also curated a Brancusi exhibition in 2004 that was shown at both the Tate Modern in London and the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Their conversation was followed by a reception in the Pulitzer courtyard, where Serra’s sculpture Joe is permanently installed.
