This special collaboration with poets and musicians invited a reconsideration of the relationships between music, visual art, and contemporary literature. Vibraphone musicians complemented the formal and material properties of Donald Judd’s multicolored works, and the Pulitzer commissioned three poets to respond to Judd’s work and read original poetry in the midst of the objects on view. The poets included Anne Waldman, winner of the PEN American Center Poetry Award 2012 and Guggenheim Fellow; Mónica de la Torre, senior editor of BOMB; and Treasure Shields Redmond, a Cave Canem Fellow.
