Portrait/Homage/Embodiment
Shaw Visual and Performing Arts
Program DescriptionBlog

This program provides an opportunity for elementary age students at Shaw Visual and Performing Arts school to experience the Pulitzer building and exhibitions. Visits acquaint the students with surroundings that might otherwise seem intimidating and allow them to become familiar with the works of art on view. Through various exercises, they are encouraged to create expressions based on their personal experience.

It is the vision of Shaw Visual and Performing Arts Community Education Center to ensure that the educational needs of each child be met or exceeded through the use of grade level expectations, accomplished teaching, and integration with the performing arts. Through professional collaborations and arts partnerships, students are challenged to aim high and try new experiences in all areas of visual and performing arts.
