St. Louis Shape Note Singers
January 13, 2011 7pm-9pm
St. Louis Shape Note Singers will sing Sacred Harp music in the Cube Gallery. Sacred Harp is an a cappella tradition rooted in mid-18th century America's congregational and social fabric, and currently enjoying a strong broad-based revival. The "Shape-notes" facilitate sight reading of music, designed for participation, rather than performance.
Experience this music for yourself as the singers' voices blend with the installation stylus. Stop by, explore the space, and get inspired to interact with stylus.
This event is free and open to the public. Visitors may come and go freely.
